Information on data protection

Section 1: Introduction and general information

1.1 About us and our website

We, Visp LLC, operate this website. Please use the contact details on the Website Home page to contact us.

If you wish to unsubscribe from our newsletter, please go to the heading “Ask Us” at the bottom of home page on this website. Should you have a request regarding your personal data, you can submit this request via our newsletter.

1.2 Our principles

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. Therefore, your data is processed very carefully and strictly in accordance with all applicable data protection laws. Organizational and technical security measures have been taken to protect all our websites from the risks associated with processing personal data. Our partners who support us in operating this website must also comply with these provisions.

1.3 What we log by default

You can use all parts of our website that are not secured without revealing your identity. We log every use of our website by default to prevent digital attacks, repair errors and investigate security incidents. You can find more information about our log data in section 2.

1.4 What permissions do we have to process your data?

We respect your privacy. Therefore, we only process your data if we are allowed to do so. An overview of the relevant legal authorizations, on which we base the data processing, can be found at the end of this ‘Information on data protection’. Of course, you can also give us permission to process your data by giving permission for the data processing on our website. In other cases, we process your data because this is legally permitted. For example, if you place an order via our website, we are allowed to process your data in order to fulfill that agreement. The same applies if you use other services on our website for which your data must be processed. We are also allowed to process your data if we have a legitimate interest in doing so. An example of this is the processing of the log data that we collect to ensure that our website can function without errors (including the technical provisions of the website). In any case, we will inform you if corresponding processing of your data takes place. Of course, we will always take your interests into account in such processing of personal data. Should you have any complaints, you can find your rights regarding the processing of your personal data in the last section of this ‘Data Protection Information’.

The next section deals with the consents we use and when we use them. More detailed information on how your data is collected, processed and used can be found on our website (i.e. the type of data processing and the scope and purpose of the data processing) in the same section.

1.5 What else should you know?

Users under the age of 16 may only provide us with personal data with the consent of their parent or guardian. The applicable data protection law may result in different age limits in this regard.

Our website may contain links to websites that are not operated by us. We have no control over the way in which your data is processed on such websites or over their compliance with data protection provisions. We recommend that you read the data protection information on those websites.

Section 2: How we process your data (website structure, logs, cookies, tracking, etc.)

2.1 Structure of the website, log data

In order to display the website correctly in your internet browser, we use various technical systems to ensure that all content (text, images, video, etc.) is always up to date. In order to ensure that your user experience – in particular the loading speed of the website – is constantly improved, we use technical service providers who enable us to create the content required for the layout of the website (by means of so-called ‘Content Delivery Networks’, abbreviated as CDN). These CDN providers act on our behalf and are bound to our instructions on the basis of corresponding agreements. The information collected in this way is used exclusively to display the content of the website in your internet browser. This data is therefore deleted immediately after intermediate storage during the loading of the website.

For technical reasons, your internet browser automatically sends information to our web server each time you use our website (i.e. log data). We store some of this information in log files, such as:

  • Date of visit;
  • URL of the website;
  • Version of the HTTP protocol being used;
  • Viewed files;
  • Amount of data transferred;
  • Type and version of internet browser;
  • Operating system type;
  • P-address (anonymized).

Log data does not contain any personal information. We only analyze log data on a case-by-case basis to correct errors in the operation of our website or to clarify security incidents. We retain this log data indefinitely.

We may need to retrieve the IP address of the device and log data to correct errors or to preserve evidence relating to security incidents. We delete this data once the error has been corrected or the security incident has been fully clarified, or if the original purpose of the processing no longer exists due to other factors. In the event of a security incident, we will transfer log data to the investigating authorities on a case-by-case basis, to the extent permitted and necessary.

We store such log data separately from other data collected relating to the use of our website.

2.2 Purchases on our website and through other channels

You can also use our website or other contact points (for example our customer service, showroom or technicians) to access products or services, such as purchasing household appliances or submitting a repair request. We collect and process the following data when products or services are ordered:

Required information:

  • Title;
  • First and last name;
  • Full postal address;
  • Phone number;
  • Email address;
  • Billing information (depending on the payment method approved by us and chosen by the user);
  • Information about booking a time slot (for example for a visit from one of our technicians).

Optional information:

  • Addition of house number.

As a registered user, you also benefit from the fact that the time and size of all purchases (display of purchase history in the user account) are displayed for you in your customer account, so that you can track your orders there directly.

With the time slot booking function, you can select a convenient day and time for your orders to be delivered. As part of the time slot booking process, our involved logistics service providers and suppliers receive your address details and the contents of the shopping cart within the ordering process in order to offer you the available dates and time slots.

After you have made a purchase on our website, you will receive a tracking link by e-mail with which you can track the status of your delivery via a web app. Your first name, last name, e-mail address, postal address, order and time slot booking information are passed on to the logistics partner, which allows you to use this function.

As part of the delivery process, your contact details are also passed on to our logistics service providers so that they can contact you to process deliveries and inform you of any delivery problems.

We use advanced encryption techniques (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS to ensure the security of your data during transmission.

If you place an order, we will only use your data to process this order and to display your order history, book time slots and enable delivery tracking functions. We retain information about orders at least until the expiry of the statutory retention period. We retain data provided during registration until the user deletes his account.

2.3 Returns portal

This section only applies to small household products and additional products (accessories/parts/cleaning agents) that have been purchased directly on our website, or from our customer service, or from our technicians (“our sales channels”). Sales via our sales channels of large household appliances, such as refrigerators or ovens, are not covered by this section.

If you decide to return your product, you must log in to the returns portal available on our website. To do so, you must use a combination of your order ID and email address details or zip code (of your delivery address). In order to create a return label via the portal, your first and last name, shipping address, telephone number and email address will be used by the service provider of the returns portal and passed on to the relevant logistics provider. After you have dropped off your return package with the logistics provider, you will receive emails about the status of your return and your refund.

2.4 Contacting us

If you contact us in the absence of an agreement (e.g. an order) or registration, we offer various contact options on our website, including the option of contact via a chat window.

In order to be able to process your specific request when you contact us in such a way, we may ask you for personal data. This includes, for example, your name, e-mail address and other information such as the reason for your request and your message. Optionally, the address and/or telephone number can be provided. We collect the requested information in order to be able to process your request in the correct manner.

The personal data transferred in this way will only be used for the purpose of the reason for your contact – in particular the processing of your request. The data will not be used for other purposes, nor transferred to third parties without your express consent. Exceptions are – insofar as this is necessary to process your request – the persons or parties (such as local service companies) who are involved in the processing and handling of your request. If there are no legal storage obligations, your personal data will be deleted after processing your request.

2.5 Making a repair appointment online

You can make a repair appointment online with one of our service technicians on our website. For this purpose, we generally need information about your household appliance, a description of the problem, your address and other contact details. The specific data that we collect in this way is determined by the booking process. We are permitted to process your data in accordance with the law (Article 6 paragraph 1 sub b GDPR) in order to complete the repair and follow-up steps.

As part of the booking process, we check the spelling of your address in the Google Maps database in order to prevent incorrect entries or other errors. No data transfer takes place in this context.

We store your data for as long as is deemed necessary to fulfil the contract and in the context of compliance with the statutory retention periods.

Google Maps is a service provided by Google LLC (formerly Google Inc.), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). You can find details about Google Maps’ processing of personal data at: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

2.6 Use of our website as a business partner

On our website, we offer our business partners various services and information in order to promote commercial relationships. Our partners have access to product information and marketing materials via our website, as well as to a comprehensive package of cooperation and/or order processing services.

Only registered business partners have access to this specific content of our website. Registration for the business customer portal usually takes place via our partner website www.tradeplace.com . In some countries, it is possible to register directly on our regular website. In order to gain access to the business content of our website, you must have an existing commercial relationship with us.

If you use our website as a business partner, we only process the master data of the partner, including the history of previous commercial relationships and personal data that you make available to us. If you use our home delivery option, we also process the delivery address of the respective end customer (first and last name, full postal address, telephone number).

We do not delete data from business partners during an existing commercial relationship.

Of course, we will provide you with information about the data we store about you upon request. Upon request, we can correct inaccurate information or delete information we have about you, provided that the correction or deletion of this information is not prohibited by our legal obligation to retain certain information. To make a request, please use the contact details at the end of this ‘Data Protection Information’.
